First Baptist Church of Cornelius is a family of Christian believers living out our lives to bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. Established in 1904, FBCC has been serving the Cornelius community since before it was Cornelius!
A LITTLE ABOUT OUR CHURCH
Our Sunday service is a reflection of our Southern Baptist heritage - joyful, welcoming, and Spirit-filled. We enjoy traditional hymns and contemporary favorites. Our sermons are Bible-based revealing the eternal truth behind the words that is as applicable today as it was thousands of years ago.
Being Baptists, we believe that persons who profess repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ should be baptized by immersion in water.
​We hold to the memorial view of the Lord's Supper. By partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine we proclaim the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
First Baptist Church of Cornelius adheres to a third distinctive of the Baptist church, which is being an autonomous, self-governing congregation. Day-to-day activities are managed by an elected council, but major decisions are voted on by the congregation.

About Our Pastor
Rev. David Judge first came to FBCC as a pulpit supply preacher in the fall of 2015. He was invited to be our interim pastor beginning November 1 of that same year. By the spring of 2016, the pastoral search committee concluded that the man they were looking for was Pastor Judge and he was called to be Pastor. He was voted in by the congregation July 17, 2016 and ordained on August 14, 2016. On July 16, 2017, Pastor Judge left a 20+ year career in the health insurance industry to become our full-time pastor.
Pastor Judge lives in Cornelius with his wife Christy and his six children. Pastor Judge earned his Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. He also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Houston.
